PhilNare Income Up 9% Despite Typhoon Claims

National Reinsurance Corp. of the Philippines (PhilNare), during
its annual stockholders’ meeting last June 29, 2010, indicated that it ended 2009 on a
positive note despite an unfavorable insurance market and claims arising from
super typhoons “Pepeng” and “Ondoy.”
PhilNaRe Receives 85.6% Rating in ICD’s 2009 Corporate Governance Scorecard

PhilNaRe received a rating of 85.6% in the Institute of Corporate Directors
(ICD) 2009 Corporate Governance Scorecard for publicly-listed companies in the
Philippines. This is well above the national average of 73% and places PhilNaRe in
the Second Quartile of all companies surveyed.

A.M. Best Reaffirms Ratings of National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines

A.M. Best Co. has reaffirmed the financial strength rating
of B++ (Good) and issuer credit rating (ICR) of “bbb” of National Reinsurance Corporation of
the Philippines (PhilNaRe) (Philippines). The outlook for both ratings is stable.
